The Proposal
The proposed solutions provide accessible covered space for 150 people seated at tables with an ocean view and improved surface for parking. This new building would be constructed behind the deck of the current Parish Hall, extending back to the berm. This new structure will provide the large social gathering space we need, create the needed multi-use space and does so by emphasizing our beautiful setting on the beach. This building is designed as an open-air pavilion that will provide suitable meeting space in most weather conditions. However, it will be designed so that enclosing the space would be an option if desired and funding is available.
This plan does not invest in improving older buildings and will preserve opportunities for future expansion. It also provides us greater flexibility for small group meetings by adding additional space to our available options. This project will not address all our needs but will provide significant benefit to parish life and address the two primary needs identified by the Facilities Task Force.
Parking
Part of this plan includes renovations to the beach walkway and rear parking to allow for additional parking spaces behind the parish office building. This allows us to build this building without losing total parking spaces.
