Defining the Needs

Our Parish Finance Council established a Facilities Task Force in 2015 to determine how to better support our ministries with physical space.  The Task Force interviewed every ministry committee chair and staff person to assess their current and future ministry needs.  This Task Force identified the need for:  1) a larger gathering space that could be used for social activities, Mass overflow, etc.; 2) additional multi-use space for Faith Formation, meetings, Bible Study, etc.

St. Therese Parish has a very limited gathering area in the converted rectory that serves as our Parish Hall.   Our wonderful beach setting provides opportunities for fellowship for large groups outdoors, but in the event of rain, extreme heat or other inclement weather, our current parish hall can only hold around 50 people comfortably.    Social activities, and the ability to gather large groups together, are a critical component of parish life.  If we are to grow as community of disciples, we must be able to convene outside of worship.   Our limited space is a hurdle in reaching our full potential.
