In my time on commission, including serving as Chair, I’m proud of many of the things we have been able to accomplish.  We have a great community and, as a county commission, we are continually working to keep it that way.  Below you’ll find a list of some of the things I’m most proud of from the past few years.

• Secured new industries and business expansions to help our tax base and create many new jobs.  These include: Del Conca, Morgan Olsen, Protomet, Inovative Pets, Tate & Lyle, and Vanhooseco.

 

• Built two new schools: Greenback School and Fort Loudon Middle.  We have been able to renovate and expand others to take care of significant overcrowding issues.

 

• Worked with TDOT on new River Bridge, Hwy 11/Ford Rd and Dixie Lee Junction projects.

 

• Successfully worked out a plan to expand our jail, as required by the state, with no cost to taxpayers.

 

• Resolved the Tellico Village delinquent lot issue.
