MEET HUGH

Born and raised in the 4th district, Hugh Nystrom graduated from Webb School of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee.  After graduating from Tennessee, Hugh worked for The Walt Disney Company for almost 14 years. Hugh started at Disney World as a front desk clerk making $ 5.65 an hour. He worked his way up from there to multiple leadership roles in resort management, as well as sales and marketing roles for the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland & Disney Cruise Line.

Hugh and his wife, Angelia, moved back to Knoxville to raise their son, Trace. For the past 10 years Hugh has served as the Director of Program Operations & Development for Childhelp’s Tennessee programs. Childhelp operates the Childhelp Children’s Advocacy Center and the Childhelp Foster Family Agency of East Tennessee. Under Hugh’s stewardship, the organization has grown from helping 600 children a year to helping over 1,200 children per year.

 

Hugh and his family attend Central Baptist of Bearden and Sacred Heart Cathedral and live in the Bearden community.
